PATIENT ANNOUNCEMENT – RESUMPTION OF DENTAL SERVICES
Updated 8th June 2020
We at Ixia Dental are working towards the resumption of service provision in line with guidance given by NHS England, Office of the Chief Dental Officer and Public Health England so that we can ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
The resumption of services will proceed in a phased manner and will be dependent on the availability of PPE and other necessary materials, review of the evolving guidelines and the provision of appropriate training.
During this phase we will be continuing the provision of a telephone service for advice and for onward referral of emergencies as required.
Dental emergencies include:
- Severe pain for over 48 hours
- Facial Swelling
- Trauma or uncontrolled bleeding
We envisage the we will be in a position to move to phase 2 in the coming weeks and this will be for the face-to-face assessment of emergencies and provision of treatments which do not generate aerosols. Should a patient require urgent treatment involving aerosols they will be referred along the appropriate pathway.
Some common dental complaints can be safely managed at home and with the kind permission of Dr Gore, we have included links to these which can be found by using the Emergencies during COVID-19 Outbreak link above or by clicking here
We will of course announce any changes in this position and keep you informed on the latest plans to open.
Thank you for your continued support during this unprecedented time.
Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
Best Wishes from the team at Ixia Dental
